With an early start on a sunny day we travelled to Bishops Cleeve to watch our men in the County finals. First up was the fours (Jack Grover, Tom Luce, Ken Sawyer & Pete Stinchcombe). Having endured a poor start going 10 nil down after 3 ends our four fought back valiantly into contention going into the last end just 2 behind. Unfortunately they could only secure a single meaning a loss 15-14. Nonetheless a great effort against a high class rink from Cheltenham. Better was to come!

At midday we had our 2nd finalist of the day; Jack Grover in the under 25’s. Playing against the talented Josh Phillips (Ardagh) Jack found himself 14 – 11 down and later 19-14 adrift. However Jack fought back to win through 21 – 19. Brilliant stuff Jack!.

After a break Jack was back on the green again for his 3rd final of the day, the triples, partnered with Pete Stinchcombe and Nig Cansdale. This proved to be a much easier affair with Fairford taking control early on and with both Pete and Nig making some great turnover shots ran out comfortable winners against a good team from Olveston.

Huge Congratulations to all who made the finals and well done you Fairford lads!

2 out of 3 ain’t bad!
