Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Update from Management Committee 14th May 2020

Fairford Bowling Club Update

The Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, announced on Sunday night (10th May) that lockdown restrictions would be eased in relation to physical activity and that some outdoor areas, including bowling greens, would be allowed to reopen from Wednesday 13th May.

The club Management Committee are keen to safely resume our sport but at this stage are awaiting advice from our national governing body (Bowls England) on matters specific to bowls.

In the meantime, we have developed an action plan to make the green available to members on a limited basis potentially from 1st June, subject to adherence to government regulations, social distancing and hygiene standards.

At this stage, bowling is still not permitted but full details on how we shall manage safe access to the bowling green will follow, once we have received the official guidance from Bowls England.

Thank you for your patience and support during the lockdown period. Hopefully, we will shortly be able to offer some outdoor bowling at the club.
